Review and Thoughts on Vampire Prosecutor 2

K-Dramas

Episodes: 11
Air Date: September 9, 2012 to November 18, 2012
Main Cast: Yoon Jung Hoon, Lee Young Ah, Lee Wong Jun, Lee Hyung Young, Kim Joo Young

Season 2 starts off with a 90 minute premiere that was full of action and blood (he’s a vampire so yeah there’s blood). Prosecutor Min is continuing his quest to find his sister and Prosecutor (and fellow vampire) Jung. He continues to solve crimes and I don’t know if its because its been awhile since I saw the first season or what, but I really enjoyed the crimes this go round.  Prosecutor Yoo had to go undercover as a model (a la Miss Congeniality), the whole team investigated a murder during a movie shoot ( and Yoo kept fantasizing that Prosecutor Min was the hero & she was the woman in distress, though thankfully there wasn’t much romance this season).

There were a few new characters this season but my favorites were: Luna, the Japanese fortune teller that KNEW Min was a Vampire.

Dr. Jo, the new medical examiner who is like the grandfather I always wanted (yes I’m weird like that) and Ji-Ae.

There was the antagonist vampire (who honestly I’m not sure why we really needed him but he was kinda cute) L.

The last few episodes were fantastic! SPOILERS AHEAD. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED!!!

Ji-Ae has been kidnapped and no one has any clue as to who took her or why. Prosecutor Min begins to suspect L has her and starts hunting for him.  Luna comes to help the team and after 57 terrifying minutes complete with videos being sent of Ji-Ae screaming for help (I actually teared up) Dr. Jo & Luna rescue her from a being tapped in a plastic box full of water.

The happiness is short lived though because thugs come in beat the crap out of Dr. Jo (who tried to hold his own) and take Ji-Ae again. L comes in, gives a syringe of his blood to Luna and tells her to make a decision. Inject Dr. Jo & turn him into a vampire so he can live or let him die and never see Ji-Ae again.  Luna’s crying, I’m crying and Dr. Jo says do it [end scene].

Next episode you see newly vamped out Dr Jo tearing up Seoul and the surrounding area with Luna looking for the thugs who took Ji-Ae. Dude’s got on a leather jacket AND a tough attitude so you know he means business. Luna tells him not to kill anyone because he’d lose himself and he says he’d try but as soon as he’s around the baddies, that goes out the window & he goes on a murder rampage (can’t say I blame him).
The team knows at this point something’s up but they can’t find Min. They know he can handle himself so they spend their time looking for Ji-Ae, Dr. Jo and Luna. Dectective Hwang ends up finding Dr. Jo who BEATS THE CRAP OUT OF HIM (bad form Dr. Jo).

L kidnaps Luna and kills her but not before she cuts him and whispers for Prosecutor Min to use the blood to catch him.  Dr. Jo finally finds out where Ji-Ae is and goes on yet another rampage to kill everyone in sight.  Prosecutor Min finally surfaces and tries to stop the Korean SWAT team from taking EVERYONE out but fails. Dr. Jo is shot & killed but at least he saves Ji-Ae.
Just when all is maybe getting back to normal, Min gets a call from L saying he has Prosecutor Yoo and if he wants to see her again, he has to do as he says (of course).
He finds out where she is and of course, there’s a bomb with like 2:00 minutes left before it explodes. EPIC FIGHT BATTLE ensues and L ends up biting Yoo.

That causes Min to get REALLY pissed. He manages to defeat L (more epic battles) and with like 3 seconds left on the bomb, he throws Yoo out the window on some stuff that’s conveniently below (how’d he know that was there) and the bomb explodes. They never find the body.

So where is Prosecutor Min? I’m hoping that somehow he got away and is on the hunt for his sister and Prosecutor Jung. Which means there might  be a season 3 (please OCN make a season 3).

Until then I’ll be patiently waiting. I know I left out a lot of plot lines but I want folks to see it so I didn’t want to spoil Everything. You can watch it on Dramafever if you’re interested.
